An inaugural Lionra-organised event that attracted crowds of people to Tynemouth earlier this year is set to return even bigger and better in 2017.
And now organisers are aiming to attract even more people to take part in a host of activities – at a new venue.
Under the new name Green Carnival at the Coast, the event will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Tynemouth Priory and Castle.
The community event will once again include the human shamrock record attempt, a fun run along the seafront towards Cullercoats, and a host of Irish dancers and musicians.
New for 2017 is the addition of the Five Worlds – an interactive marquee based on Health and Wellbeing, Heritage and History, Energy and Environment, Literacy and Language, and Locality and Lifestyle.
The Shamrock Ballwill take place once again on the evening, with a comedian and musicians to be announced.
